Contributions to engineering research and development:

Before pursuing my Ph.D. degree at UWO I have worked in the battery industry as a senior
engineer for 7 years after obtaining my bachelor and master degree in electrochemical engineering.
During my Ph.D. thesis in physical chemistry, I worked closely with research groups in
department of mechanic and materials engineering at UWO on the research to study the
electrochemical processing of CNTs grown on fuel cell electrode backing. I also worked on
applying advanced surface science technique (XAFS, SR-XPS, STXM, and PEEM) to study the
interaction in fuel cell catalyst. After graduation from UWO, I have worked as industrial scientist at
CLS for studying tribology chemistry of various liquid lubricants, which is critical for developing
new environmentally-friendly engine oil. I have also been continuing projects of synthesizing and
characterizing nano functional materials for clean energy.
