Full-text articles have been published online for the Journal of The Electrochemical Society (JES), all issues from 1940 and forward; for Electrochemical and Solid-State Letters (ESL), all issues since its inception in July 1998; for ECS Transactions (ECST), all issues since its inception in October 2005; for Meeting Abstracts (MA), all issues from 2005 and forward; for Interface, all issues from 1998 and forward.
ECS online publications are accessible through the ECS Digital Library which is hosted by the American Institute of Physics (AIP) on its Scitation platform. The following links will take you directly to a specific ECS publication.
Nonrestricted Content — Access to the online tables of contents of all ECS publications is nonrestricted and is freely available to the entire public. Also free and nonrestricted are the entire contents, including full-text articles, of Meeting Abstracts and Interface. Abstracts to JES, ESL, and ECST articles may also be freely accessed online.
Restricted Content — Online access to the individual full-text articles in JES, ESL, or ECST is restricted to ECS members or nonmember subscribers only. Access to restricted content is obtained either through IP authentication or with an ECS Digital Library username and password. ECS members must complete the ECS Digital Library registration process and obtain an ECS Digital Library username and password to access restricted content.
Sample Articles—Sample articles from ECS online publications are posted to an open access area, available to all. Sample articles that originally appeared in either JES or ESL, have been featured in the 'Tech Highlights' section of Interface as particularly noteworthy papers. To check out the current list of sample articles, go to http://www.electrochem.org/dl/support/smpl_arts.htm.
ECS Members: Registration for online access to restricted content in the ECS Digital Library is always open to all ECS members, new and old. After you have successfully registered, you should have immediate access to the restricted content.
Registration for New ECS Members—Every new member of ECS is sent an e-mail message whose subject line is "ECS New Member Information." This e-mail explains that the new member will automatically receive an email from AIP's Scitation Help Desk with the subject line "ECS Online Publications Registration Instructions." The e-mail from Scitation provides registration instructions and a link to the registration site. New members should follow the instructions in this e-mail to complete the registration process.
Registration for Existing ECS Members—Existing ECS members who have never registered for online access may do so at any time, but will need their ECS membership number to complete the process. ECS members may request this number by sending e-mail to membership@electrochem.org. Next, the member must contact AIP's Scitation Help Desk by sending e-mail to help@scitation.org, include the ECS membership number in this e-mail, and request online access registration instructions. In return the member will receive an e-mail from Scitation that provides registration instructions and a link to the registration site. Members should follow the instructions in this e-mail to complete the registration process.
