Articles are posted online as they become available for publication. This archival journal is also available in a paper edition, published monthly following electronic publication. Articles are produced for ECS by the American Institute of Physics (AIP) and hosted on their Scitation platform. Sample articles from the Journal are available online free.
This journal is abstracted and/or indexed in: Chemical Abstracts (CAS), ChemPort, Dialog, INSPEC, ISI Web of Science, ProQuest, Science Citation Index, SPIN Web (Searchable Physics Information Notices), and others.
ECS Members — ECS members automatically receive access to the online current edition and Backfile of the Journal as part of membership benefits. In addition to the online edition, for the year 2008, all ECS members will receive the year-end CD-ROM of both the Journal and Letters (publication date: January 2009). A paper edition (published monthly) is available at an extra charge.
Subscriptions — Nonmembers may subscribe to the Journal, at the rates given below. All paper subscriptions are for the calendar year (January through December). Nonmember subscriptions are handled for ECS by the American Institute of Physics (AIP); please see "Ordering Information" below.
Single Issues/Articles — Single issues of the Journal for the past three calendar years may be purchased from the Society: $20.00 per issue for members; $83.00 per issue for nonmembers. Single articles may be purchased from the Society: $18.40 per article for members; $23.00 per article for nonmembers.
Electrochemical and Solid-State Letters is the first and only rapid-publication electronic journal covering the field of electrochemical and solid-state science and technology: batteries, fuel cells, and energy conversion; biotechnology; corrosion, passivation, and anodic films; nanotechnology; electrochemical and chemical deposition and etching; electrochemical synthesis and engineering; dielectric science and materials; physical and analytical electrochemistry; semiconductor devices and materials; fullerenes, nanotubes, and carbon nanostructures; and sensors and displays.

ECS Transactions is the newest publication of The Electrochemical Society. This online database of technical papers is a high-quality venue for authors and another excellent resource for researchers. ECST includes full-text content of proceedings from ECS meetings and ECS-sponsored meetings. The papers appearing in ECST are reviewed to ensure that submissions meet generally-accepted scientific standards. Papers may be purchased individually; or users may purchase an entire collection of papers as an issue of ECS Transactions (ECST). All issues are available online, and selected issues are also available in hard-cover editions. Online articles and issues are available in PDF format. Buyers should note that the book editions do not automatically come with access to the online version, nor do the book editions automatically come with online access.
ECS Members — Issue prices vary; but ECS members will receive a discount on all full issues and single articles. A subscription to ECS Transactions for individuals (members or nonmembers) is not available currently.
Subscriptions — Nonmembers may subscribe to ECS Transactions, at the rates given below. All subscriptions are for the calendar year January through December. Nonmember subscriptions are handled for ECS by the American Institute of Physics (AIP); please see "Ordering Information" below.
Single articles — Online articles and issues are available in PDF format. Single articles are $9.60 per article for an ECS member; $12.00 per article for a nonmember.
Interface is ECS’s quarterly news magazine. It provides a forum for the lively exchange of ideas and news among members of ECS and the international scientific community at large. Published online (with free access to all) and in paper (see rates below), issues highlight special features on the state of electrochemical and solid-state science and technology. The paper edition is automatically sent to all ECS members.
Meeting Abstracts are published twice a year, online and in a CD-ROM edition. This publication contains extended abstracts of the technical papers presented at the spring and fall meetings of ECS. ECS also publishes Meeting Abstract volumes for satellite meetings. Online abstracts, beginning with the 2005 volumes are available free at the above URL.
Subscriptions — The CD-ROM edition may be purchase on a subscription basis. A subscription includes two discs: one published in the spring and one published in the fall each year. Nonmember subscriptions are handled for ECS by the American Institute of Physics (AIP); ECS Member subscriptions are handled directly by ECS. Please see the "Ordering Information" below. The 2008 price, for two discs, is $185.00, for all countries.
For 2008, the Backfile includes all JES and ESL content from 2005 through 2007. For 2008, the JES Archive includes all content from 1948 through 2004; the ESL Archive includes all content from 1998 (the first volume) through 2004.
ECS Members — All ECS members have electronic access to JES and ESL as part of their member benefits, including access to the full text of the current issue and access to the Backfile. For more information click here.
Nonmembers — For nonmember subscribers, each title comes with access to its complete Backfile and Archive. All subscribers must complete a Site License Agreement. Online access is managed for ECS by the American Institute of Physics (AIP). ECS uses the AIP Site License Agreement, which has check-off boxes for ECS publications, for both single site and multi-site access. Please go to librarians.aip.org for links to the AIP license.
The Society offers a year-end CD-ROM of its technical journals. The CD-ROM editions began in 1999, with all 1999 issues (12) of the Journal and all 1999 issues (12) of Letters, as well as all issues (6) of the inaugural volume (1998) of Letters.
