This Section serves the needs of ECS members interested in electrochemical and solid-state science and technology in Chicago area and nearby vicinity. Geographically the members are from Northern Illinois, Northern Indiana, Iowa, and Missouri.
The Chicago Section typically holds one evening technical meeting per month, usually in a local area restaurant, following a dinner and casual social.
A half day symposium on Energy Storage Materials and Simulations (PDF of tentative agenda) is scheduled from 1:00-4:45 PM at Argonne National Laboratory Building 240, Conference Room 1416, including a wine and cheese reception and presentation of Graduate Student Research Award (PDF of call for nominations). The registration fee is $10 for professionals and $5 for graduate students and postdocs. Send attendance confirmation by e-mail to: Dr. Wenquan Lu, Argonne National Laboratory wenquan.lu@anl.gov. Deadlines for registration is September 2 for U.S. citizens and Argonne’s employees; and August 16 for non-U.S. citizens. Non-U.S. citizens need to fill out this form and send it by fax no later than August 16.
