The primary purpose of the Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry Division (PAED) promotes research, education, and publication in the broad area of fundamental electrochemistry, including theoretical and experimental aspects of doublelayer structure and heterogeneous electron transfer at electrode-electrolyte interfaces; electrocatalysis; electroanalytical chemistry; and the application of in situ and ex situ spectroscopic, microgravimetric, and microscopic techniques to the study of electrochemical interfaces and processes. The Division also stimulates cooperation with other ECS Divisions in the extension of scientific knowledge in the field of electrochemistry by sponsoring symposia and publishing specialized monographs in areas of common interest.
