241st ECS Meeting Topic Close-up: Large Scale Energy Storage

Topic Close-up #17

Symposium A03: Large Scale Energy Storage 13

Extended Deadline for Submitting Abstracts:
December 17, 2021

Symposium focus:  Consider submitting an abstract for the A03 Large Scale Energy Storage symposium taking place this spring at the 241st ECS Meeting in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Abstracts focusing on work on any system for grid-scale storage are considered: flow batteries, Zn systems, beyond Li-ion, electrolyzers, LFP, etc. Electrical energy storage is critical for supporting the integration of renewable energy sources (e.g., wind and solar) and increasing the capacity and reliability of the future electricity grid. Electrochemical energy storage systems have the potential to fulfill this need. This symposium seeks oral and poster presentations on advances in materials; technology and designs; results of performance demonstrations; and economics analysis. The technologies of interest include redox-flow battery systems; metal-air rechargeable batteries; electrolyzers; capacitors; and other rechargeable electrochemical energy storage systems that have the potential to meet the cost and efficiency requirements of large-scale deployment.
