Call for Nominations: 2020 LDM Outstanding Achievement Award

Luminescence and Display MaterialsNominations are due January 1, 2020

The LDM Outstanding Achievement Award was established in 2002 by the ECS Luminescence and Display Materials Division. The goal is to encourage excellence in luminescence and display materials research and outstanding technical contributions to the field of luminescence and display materials science. The award consists of a scroll and a $1,000 prize. The recipient is required to attend the designated Society meeting to receive the award and deliver a lecture to the LDM Division.

In 2018, the award was won by Pieter Dorenbos, professor at the Technical University of Delft, The Netherlands, where he is head of the section, Luminescence Materials in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. At the AiMES 2018 Meeting, he received the LDM Outstanding Achievement Award  and delivered Vacuum Referred Electron Binding Energies in Impurity and Host Band States as Revealed from Empirical Studies; a Personal Account.

Other past recipients of the award are: Baldassare Di Bartolo (2016), Hajime Yamamoto (2012), David J. Lockwood (2010), H. Guedel (2006), A. Meijerink and A. Srivastava (2004).
