Nominate Now for the ECS Organic and Biological Electrochemistry Manuel M. Baizer Division Award

Nominations deadline: January 15, 2021

Nominations are now being accepted for the ECS Organic and Biological Electrochemistry Division (OBE) Manuel M. Baizer Award sponsored by The Electrosynthesis Company, Inc. and Monsanto Company.

The award was established in 1992 to recognize outstanding scientific achievements in the electrochemistry of organics and organometallic compounds, carbon-based polymers and biomass—whether fundamental or applied—and including, but not limited to:

  • Synthesis
  • Mechanistic studies
  • Engineering of processes
  • Electrocatalysis
  • Devices such as sensors
  • Pollution control
  • Separation/recovery

Specifically excluded are the development of electroanalytical methods and purely physical electrochemistry. The award consists of a scroll and a $1,000 prize.

The OBE Division Manuel M. Baizer Award is part of the ECS Honors & Awards Program which has recognized professional and volunteer achievement in ECS’s multi-disciplinary sciences for decades.
