The Henry B. Linford Award for Distinguished Teaching

The Henry B. Linford Award for Distinguished Teaching was established in 1981 for excellence in teaching in subject areas of interest to the Society.

The award consists of a silver medal and a plaque that contains a bronze replica, both bearing the recipient’s name, a $2,500 prize, complimentary meeting registration for award recipient and companion, a dinner held in recipient’s honor during the designated meeting, and Society Life Membership. The recipient will receive the award and deliver the Linford award talk during recognition at the 237th ECS biannual meeting in Montreal, Canada which takes place from May 10-15, 2020.

The last winner of this Linford award was Ralph White. White served ECS as treasurer from 1990 -1994 and has won a number of other awards from the Society. Last spring, he delivered “Mathematical Modeling of Batteries” as the Linford award talk in Seattle.

This is an excellent opportunity to recognize a worthy scientist for this honor.
