Corrosion Division Student Travel Grants

The Corrosion Division will provide travel grants to students who are presenting papers in Division sponsored symposia at ECS meetings. For co-sponsored symposia, the Corrosion Division must be the lead organizer.

To qualify, the student travel grant form, the abstract, and a letter from the student's academic advisor (preferably via email attachment) shall be submitted to the Corrosion Division Travel Grant point-of-contact stating that the student meets the following three requirements.

  • Student is currently enrolled in good standing at a college or university
  • Student is the presenting author of a paper to be given in a Corrosion Division symposium (provide title of paper and symposium to which it has been submitted)
  • Student must be an ECS member or have applied for membership at the time of submission
  • Preference will be given to students whose attendance at the meeting will involve overseas travel. Thus, participants from overseas are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given preference for meetings held in the United States

Up to four awards of $500 will be granted for each ECS conference. For ECS biannual meetings, applications must be received by January 1 for Spring meetings, or July 1 for Fall meetings. For other ECS Battery Division sponsored symposia or conferences, two months before the meeting. Distribution of the awards will occur at the conference.

To apply:
Please visit the ECS Travel grant web page and apply electronically using the online application process.
Only applications using the online submission system will be accepted.
