Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry Division Travel Grants

Student & postdoc travel grants

The Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry Division supports the travel of one or more students to each ECS biannual meeting.

Terms & eligibility requirements:
  • Applicants must be a graduate student or upper level undergraduate student.
  • Student must present an oral presentation in a symposium sponsored or co-sponsored by the PAED. Poster presentations are not eligible for support from the PAED.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have not been awarded a travel grant from the PAED in the prior two years.
  • Only one individual from a research group can apply for a PAED travel award for each conference. Supervisors are expected to internally screen candidates from their own group, and submit only one student application per meeting.
  • Students will be assessed according to their academic record (GPA), publication and professional service record, as well as the strength of the supporting letter from their supervisor.
  • A minimum of $250 per student per meeting will be awarded with a maximum of $2,000 per meeting.
  • Students must submit the online application, a two-page resume, a supporting letter from their research supervisor, and a copy of their abstract.

Young professional & early career travel grants

The Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry Division supports the travel of one or two young faculty to each ECS biannual meeting.

Terms & eligibility requirements:
  • The applicant for this award must be a young professional at the rank of assistant professor in a tenure track position.
  • The applicant must give an oral presentation in a symposium sponsored or cosponsored by PAED at the meeting for which the award is granted. Poster presentations are not eligible for support from this award.
  • Winners will be selected by the Executive Committee of PAED. Preference will be given to applicants who have not been awarded a TravelAward from the PAED in the prior two years;
  • Travel Awards will be in the amount of $750 per recipient per meeting.
  • In the case of insufficient funds or an inadequate pool of candidates, no award will be given.
  • Applicants must submit the online application, a two-page resume, a letter of recommendation and a copy of their extended abstract.
