Open data is the only way to move the world forward, learning from give and take to find new ways to connect the dots and have new insights, that is what electrochemistry has done already for hundreds of years.

With a network of over 8,000 scientists and engineers, the ECS is invaluable for enriching my scientific and professional career. Being part of the ECS is like having a (very) large scientific family; members are eager to help each other out both scientifically as well as professionally.

When you go to an Electrochemical Society Meeting, you know the people in your field of interest and they all come. You exchange ideas with them and talk to them, so it’s a great environment for a meeting place.

ECS provides the opportunity for people to show their scientific contributions; to share with a friend their point of view based on science.

The Society is my second family. I grew up professionally within the Society from my student years and I’m still learning within the Society. I have developed life-long friendships and professional relationships.

As scientists, we have the opportunity to make the world a better place. ECS has always been a big part of that because it’s the venue through which all of these scientific interactions are orchestrated.

ECS provides lots and lots of opportunities to know lots and lots of outstanding, excellent scientists and provides a place to go when you have that question that you can’t get an answer to.

The Society has just been a home away from home. I’ve enjoyed all of the things that I’ve done with it, from the publications to the friendships, it’s a place where I’ve developed relationships that have lasted 50 or 60 years. That makes life worth living.

My nature is curiosity and The Electrochemical Society has gone a long way to satisfy my curiosity.

The research we’re doing directly addresses some of the major issues people are facing around the world. Our work is about the sustainability of the planet.
