Currency
In Japan, you can use ONLY the Japanese Yen. Please exchange money to Japanese yen in airport or other places in advance. Credit card aren’t always accepted in Yonezawa area. We highly recommend you should have Japanese yen while you are in Yonezawa.
Transportation
Use Yamagata Shin-kanasen (bullet train), which is “Tsubasa” express, from Tokyo station to Yonezawa station. You must get on the “Tsubasa,” NOT “Yamabiko” if you get a non-reserved seat ticket.
Free shuttle bus is available between Yonezawa Station, Tokyo Dai-ichi Hotel Yonezawa which is located at Yonezawa central area, and Yamagata University (only morning and evening).
