Hotel Reservations

Warning: Housing Pirates

It has come to our attention that an outside organization, commonly referred to as a “housing pirate,” may attempt to contact you regarding accommodation and housing arrangements for ECS events. Be advised, this is a scam. The only way to book rooms within the ECS hotel room block is to make your reservation directly through the “Book your room” link on the ECS Website.

A housing pirate is a company or individual that falsely represents themself as an official housing provider for an ECS event and often solicits exhibitors and attendees to book accommodations through them at inflated rates or with hidden fees. No one should ever email you or call you on behalf of ECS to book your hotel rooms. ECS also does not offer “promo” codes for our hotel reservations. Companies that offer you one are not affiliated in any way with ECS.

These housing pirates may tell you that an ECS employee told them to call you or that these housing pirates can get cheaper rates at the conference hotel. Please remember that the best way to book your room for the ECS conference is directly through our website. If not, you may end up without a hotel room and you may lose your money.

We strongly urge you to make your hotel reservations through the ECS event website or by a reservation link provided by an ECS employee (check the ECS staff webpage) or a conference registration confirmation only.

If you have any questions or concerns related to housing for ECS events, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team at meetings@electrochem.org.
