Symposium focus: This symposium aims to research utilizing the unique electronic and photonic properties of solid state materials and devices to facilitate the understanding of biomolecular interactions; to study the integration of biomolecules and solid state materials; to promote the applications of solid state devices in biology and in medicine; and to develop functional nanosensors and self-powered sensors/systems. The symposium provides an overview both state-of-the-art research and technological progress in the area.
