Symposium focus: This symposium researches utilizing the unique electronic and photonic properties of solid state materials and devices to facilitate the understanding of biomolecular interactions; study the integration of biomolecules and solid state materials; promote the applications of solid state devices in biology and in medicine; and develop functional nanosensors and self-powered sensors/systems. The symposium gives an overview of state-of-the-art research and technological progress in the area.
