- Make sure your symposium runs smoothly by assigning two chairs to each session. Session chairs keep things running on schedule, ensuring that the science is shared, questions are asked, and hot topics are discussed. Source your session chairs from the list of volunteers Sarah Hazuka provides. Co-organizers, students, or presenters in the session are also excellent resources. Send any outstanding session chair assignments to abstracts@electrochem.org.
- Mind the Gap – Have withdrawn talks created holes in your program? It may be possible to fill gaps by promoting poster presentations to oral talks. Email janeann.wormann@electrochem.org for more information.
250th ECS Meeting
- Ensure a stronger, more complete symposium by reviewing the abstract submissions received to date. Contact invited speakers, students, or colleagues who have not yet submitted. Encourage them to do so. Following up now helps minimize last-minute gaps or cancellations and gives you greater flexibility in shaping a cohesive and engaging session. - Set yourself up for scheduling success by organizing your symposium now. Planning ahead makes the scheduling period (April 17–27) much smoother, reduces time pressure, and helps you create the best possible flow for presentations and discussions.
Future Meetings
The Symposium Planning Tool is ready to receive 252nd ECS Meeting topic proposals. Division Chairs should upload all proposed topics—including full call text and organizer lists—before the SPAB Meeting in Seattle, WA, on Tuesday, May 26, at 0700h. The 252nd Meeting takes place in Detroit, MI US, in October 2027.
