Print your poster on-site in San Francisco

ECS has arranged with FedEx Office to provide 245th ECS Meeting poster authors with on-site poster printing at an early bird rate.

  • Submit your poster file at https://docstore.fedex.com/hco5515.
  • Orders must be placed by Monday, May 20, 2024, to receive the early bird rate.
  • Pick up your poster at the FedEx Office Print & Ship Center, Level B2, Marriott Marquis San Francisco.
  • Email questions to usa5515@fedex.com.
Dress code

Conference attire is business casual. Session rooms can be cold, so dress in layers. Given the amount of walking you will do, wear comfortable walking shoes.

San Francisco weather is dry and cool in May with average temperatures ranging from 51-65°F (11°-18°C). Check the forecast and plan accordingly.

What to bring
  • Business Cards – With ample time to network, have plenty of cards ready to distribute.
  • Day bag – Between early sessions and evening poster presentations, meeting days are long. Bring a backpack or briefcase to carry items you need as there are few opportunities to return to your hotel room during the day.
  • Reusable water bottle and coffee mug – Go green!
  • Notebook and pen – While it may sound obvious, always have these on hand.
Who to ask

ECS staff members are easily identified. Look for our signature polo shirts with ECS logos or nametags with “Staff” ribbons. We are happy to answer your questions or listen to feedback. To discuss specific questions or concerns before the meeting, contact meetings@electrochem.org.

Letters of Attendance

Individuals requiring an official letter of attendance should visit the “Letters of Attendance” self-help computer in the onsite registration area. After the online form is completed, the letter is emailed to you within two weeks of the end of the meeting.

Financial assistance

Many ECS divisions offer students, postdoctoral researchers, and young professionals travel grants to attend ECS biannual meetings. Applications, which are available online, must be received by February 26, 2024. Additional financial assistance is limited and generally governed by the individual symposium organizers. To find out if additional funding is available, contact the organizers of the symposium in which you are presenting a paper. For general travel grant questions, please contact travelgrant@electrochem.org.

Publish your paper

ECS Transactions (ECST), the official conference proceedings publication of The Electrochemical Society, features full-text content from ECS meeting and ECS-sponsored meeting proceedings. ECST is a high-quality venue for authors and an excellent resource for researchers. The full papers and posters appearing in ECST are reviewed to ensure that submissions meet generally accepted scientific standards. Authors of accepted ECST papers are also encouraged to submit their papers to the Society’s technical journals. Visit the ECST website for additional information, including overall guidelines, deadlines, instructions, a manuscript template, and more.

ADA accessibility

Accommodations for attendees with disabilities are handled on an individual basis. Contact ECS headquarters at meetings@electrochem.org immediately if you require accommodations.

Permissions granted to ECS

ECS reserves the right to electronically record any and all meeting-related events. By registering for and/or attending an ECS meeting, you grant ECS permission to use any recording or photography made of you at any meeting event or anywhere within the meeting venue.

Speaker indemnification

The ideas and opinions expressed in the technical sessions, conferences, and handout materials are those of the presenter. They are not those of ECS, nor can any endorsement by ECS be claimed.

Photography and recording is not permitted in technical sessions

By attending an ECS meeting, you agree not to record any technical session activity without express written consent from ECS. Violators of this policy are removed from the meeting and their registrations revoked without possibility of refund.
