ECS Digital Library Paywall is down for 2022 Open Access Week

Access is free and open to all from October 24-30

The paywall to the ECS Digital Library on IOPscience is down while ECS participates in its seventh International Open Access Week. Over 171,000 journal and magazine articles and meeting abstracts are free and accessible to everyone through October 30.

Open for Climate Justice

SPARC, the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition, organizes International Open Access Week. The annual global event focuses attention on inspiring momentum toward the open sharing of knowledge. This year’s theme, Open for Climate Justice, encourages connection and collaboration among the climate movement and the international open community. Addressing the climate crisis requires the rapid exchange of knowledge across geographic, economic, and disciplinary boundaries provided by open access.

As stated in the ECS Climate Change Statement, the Society supports immediate action to address climate change. The Society’s members are passionately developing the next generation of technological solutions for the challenges facing our planet. Nowhere is this more critical than in their efforts as scientists, researchers, and engineers to find solutions for providing clean, affordable, and sustainable sources for powering and moving an interconnected world.

Free the Science

2022 International Open Access Week supports ECS’s long-term open access vision—Free the Scienceto provide access to all in order to further advance research. ECS publications directly address the sustainability of the planet and solutions to climate change. Electrochemistry and solid state science continue to hold the keys to innovation in renewable energy, biomedical applications, water and sanitation, communications, transportation, technology, infrastructure, and beyond.
