Meet Peter Mascher at the 242nd ECS Meeting

Dr. Peter MascherStop by and visit with Dr. Peter Mascher at the 242nd ECS Meeting. He will be at the “Meet the Editors” event at the ECS Booth to answer your questions on journal processes and discuss editorial opportunities and the vision for ECS Publications’ growth—as well as his own research. Dr. Mascher is Technical Editor for the Journal of Solid State Science and Technology in the Dielectric Science and Materials topical interest area.

Dr. Peter Mascher

Dr. Mascher is a Professional Engineer and Professor in the Department of Engineering Physics at McMaster University. After completing a PhD in Engineering Physics in 1984 at the Technische Universität Graz (TUG), he joined McMaster in 1989. He was Department Chair there from 1994-2000; Associate Dean (Research and External Relations) of the Faculty of Engineering from 2003-2014; and until recently, he oversaw McMaster’s International Portfolio as Vice-Provost, International Affairs. He is an elected Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and The Electrochemical Society. Mascher serves as Chair of the International Committee of the Canadian Academy of Engineering; Vice-Chair of NanoOntario; Past Chair of the ECS Dielectric Science and Technology Division; and since 2017, as a Technical Editor for the Journal of Solid State Science and Technology. In September 2021, he was appointed Chair of the Senior Leaders’ Group of Universitas 21, a global network of world leading, research-intensive universities.
