With a room buzzing with energy, ideas, and genuine connection, members enjoyed a festive atmosphere filled with meaningful stories, updates on exciting milestones, and the ever-popular ECS raffle. Here’s a look at the highlights:

ECS voices: Stories of impact and inspiration

ECS President Dr. James Fenton kicked off the evening with a heartfelt reflection on his own ECS journey. He shared how the Society has shaped his professional path and encouraged all members to actively engage with nonmembers, create meaningful moments for new members, and above all, introduce yourself to someone new during the Opening Reception that followed. His message: Our strength is in our people.

Professor Rohan Akolkar, Editor-in-Chief of ECS Advances, celebrated the exciting news that the journal has been indexed in the Web of Science, marking a significant step forward in the journal’s visibility and impact. He emphasized that this achievement wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of ECS authors, reviewers, and editors. His call to action? Keep submitting groundbreaking work to ECS Advances and help shape the future of electrochemical and solid state science.

Thomas Boulanger and Brittany Pelletier-Villeneuve, student leaders from the ECS Montréal Student Chapter shared how their involvement with ECS has enriched their educational journeys, strengthened their networks, and created leadership opportunities on campus and beyond. Their story is a testament to how ECS student chapters foster growth, community, and collaboration.
