Title: “LFP Li-ion cells are boring – Why should I care?”
Date: Tuesday, January 13, 2026
Schedule: 1800h EST: Speaker
Fee:
No fee to participate in the virtual event.
Speaker: Jeff Dahn, Dalhousie University
Abstract
Most researchers and OEMs believe LFP Li-ion cells are “done.” While they work well and are inexpensive, LFP cells’ lifetime at elevated temperatures is poor compared to NMC cells. Their stack energy density is low compared to NMC cells. Work directed at overcoming these limitations is discussed in the talk.
