ECS Paywall Coming Down for Free the Science Week 2023

Save the date: Sunday, April 2 – Sunday, April 9

Continuing the tradition of encouraging the open dissemination of scientific content, don’t miss Free the Science Week 2023!

From April 2 through April 10, the paywall to the entire ECS Digital Library on IOPscience will be down, making over 180,000 scientific articles and abstracts free and accessible to everyone.

Open access

Activate with ECS and dive into the ECS Digital Library’s treasure of high-impact, rigorously peer-reviewed research! The paywall will be down for ECS’s flagship publication, Journal of The Electrochemical Society, published continuously since 1902, and the ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, ECS Sensors Plus, ECS Advances, ECS TransactionsECS Meeting Abstracts, and Interface.

With open access, scientific research spreads more rapidly and broadly, leading to more citations. New research has a stronger impact, resulting in new discoveries and advancement. Opportunities are limitless when industries around the world experience the removal of barriers to scientific research. In the fields of electrochemistry and solid state science and related technologies, this translates into positive global advances in renewable energy, clean water, food safety, medical care, and more.
