Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, PRiME 2020 will take place as a solely virtual event, not as an in-person meeting. Presenters giving oral/poster presentations at PRiME may apply for a travel grant to fund their meeting registration fee. To assist and support our ECS student and young professional members, the travel grant submission deadline is extended to August 17, 2020. (more…)
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the PRiME 2020 cosponsors—The Electrochemical Society, The Electrochemical Society of Japan, and The Korean Electrochemical Society—are converting the in-person PRiME 2020 meeting to an exclusively online event.
Instead of travelling to Hawaii, presenters are asked to submit a digital presentation file (video, and/or slide deck or poster) that will be made available for online viewing as part of the digital PRiME 2020 event. As with past PRiME meetings, all authors presenting papers are required to pay a registration fee in order to participate. In the case of digital PRiME, this fee is significantly reduced from our normal registration fees. (more…)
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the PRiME 2020 cosponsors—The Electrochemical Society, The Electrochemical Society of Japan, and The Korean Electrochemical Society—are converting the in-person PRiME 2020 meeting to an exclusively online event.
The cosponsors determined that it was impossible to host the meeting in person without risking the health and safety of meeting attendees and volunteers, ECS staff, and the public at large. It is indeed unfortunate that the amazing plans for the in-person PRiME meeting will not take place as initially envisioned, however, the organizers are extremely excited for the opportunities this reimagined digital PRiME affords. Most notably, for the first time in PRiME’s history, access to all of the program’s technical presentations will be freely available to the entire global community. All are welcome to attend! (more…)

PRiME 2020 Topic Close-up: Electrodeposition for Energy Applications 5
Posted on April 27, 2020 by Bianca Kovalenko
Topic Close-up #13
Symposium E01: Electrodeposition for Energy Applications 5
Symposium focus: This well attended interdisciplinary symposium keeps a broad focus on applications in energy storage, conversion, and generation—while maintaining electrodeposition science as the central theme. This year, we include several invited tutorial-type talks to inspire experts in electrodeposition to help solve certain scientific problems in the field of energy applications—and to make experts in energy applications aware of the capabilities and knowledge in electrodeposition. Please check out the call for papers for more details.
PRiME 2020 Abstract Submission Deadline Further Extended to May 29
Posted on April 23, 2020 by ECS StaffIt is difficult to focus on events in the near future while the world is concentrating on the daily challenges regaining stability. In recognition of this and the continuing disruption caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, the abstract submission deadline for PRiME 2020 has been extended to May 29, 2020.
The Electrochemical Society, the Electrochemical Society of Japan, and the Korean Electrochemical Society are actively monitoring the global situation while preparing for PRiME 2020. As we strive to balance health and safety with an eventual return to normality, we hope that this extension relieves pressure for submitters. (more…)
The 18th International Meeting on Chemical Sensors (IMCS) has been rescheduled to May 30-June 3, 2021, at the Hilton Chicago in Chicago, IL. It will be co-located with the 239th ECS Meeting.
This is the latest in a series of successful meetings for researchers, professionals, and business leaders showcasing state of the art sensors for gases, liquids, biologicals, applications in health and environment, wearables and fixed infrastructure, as well as wired and wireless. Topics covered include the following: (more…)
The Electrochemical Society, The Electrochemical Society of Japan, and The Korean Electrochemical Society are actively monitoring the worldwide coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and working to prepare for any potential impact on the upcoming PRiME 2020 meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, from October 4-9, 2020.
At present, we are proceeding as planned with abstract submissions and all other preparations for PRiME 2020. In order to provide authors with as much time as possible, we are formally extending the abstract submission for PRiME from April 17 to May 1, 2020. (more…)
Every day, all over the world, scientists are making new discoveries to advance theory and practice at the forefront of electrochemical and solid state science and technology, and allied subjects. See them all at PRiME 2020.
