A Chance to Win $1,500 – Z01 General Student Poster Competition

Are you presenting a poster in the Z01 General Student Poster Session at the 243rd ECS Meeting in Boston, MA? You could win up to $1,500 for presenting your poster!

The Z01 General Student Poster Session offers these awards for the top three posters:

  • 1st Place – $1,500 cash award
  • 2nd Place – $1,000 cash award
  • 3rd Place – $500 cash award

Awards are a great way to be recognized and honored for your hard work. All Z01 Symposium Corresponding Authors received instructions for participating in the competition. In case you missed them, here they are again.

Award Application Requirements
  • Upload a one-page digital poster file by May 19, 2023. This deadline is firm. There are no exceptions. No digital files are accepted after 1159h ET, May 19.
  • You must be registered for the meeting to upload your file.
  • The first round of judging only considers the one-page digital poster file.
    • As some posters are not finalized until shortly before the event, a draft version of your poster suffices to be considered for an award.
    • You do not need to upload a video presentation file or your presentation slides.
  • Posters must be hung before 1700h ET on Tuesday, May 30.
  • You must be physically present for the second round of judging during the General Student Poster Session on Tuesday, May 30. Only in-person attendees will be considered for awards.
  • During the second round  of judging on May 30, judges only visit with finalists.
How to upload your one-page digital poster file

1. Go to https://ecs.confex.com/ecs/243/gateway.cgi.
2. Find your abstract in the My Meeting Roles module under the Presenting Author header.
3. Click the Upload Files link to access the presentation upload functionality.
4. Once logged in, you have the option to submit the following presentation files:

  • A 15-20 minute video of the author giving their talk (mp4 format only), typically voice narration over a slide display, and/or
  • Presentation slides (pdf format only), or
  • One-page poster file (pdf format only)

You are only required to upload the one-page poster file (pdf format only) to be considered for the General Student Poster Session Award.

NOTES:
  • Your current ECS login/password is required to access the meeting submission site. If you don’t have an ECS account or can’t remember your login information, follow the instructions at the Gateway Link (#1 above) to create an account and/or a new password.
  • If the Gateway prompts you to create a new record, use the email address at which you received this message. If you received Z01 General Student Poster Session emails at multiple addresses, decide which is your primary email address. Then contact ecs@confex.com to consolidate all your records to your primary email address.

Submission deadline

The deadline for submitting all presentation files is 1159h EDT, May 19, 2023. This is a firm deadline. There will be no extensions. No digital files are accepted after 19 May.
