Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells & Electrolyzers 22 Poster Competition Winners
Posted on October 17, 2022 by ECS StaffCongratulations to Seiji Ichikawa, Daichi Yasufuku, Ryosuke Nishiizumi, and Weijie Cao
The Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells & Electrolyzers 22 (PEFC&E 22) symposium at the 242nd ECS Meeting hosted its annual student poster competition on October 10, 2022. Some 30 students submitted posters to the competition. Dr. James (Jim) Fenton led the group of senior fuel cell and electrolysis researchers, which judged the posters for technical content and visual presentation.
ECS and PEFC&E 22 thank the Office of Naval Research, the competition’s funder. A total of USD $3,000 was awarded for four prizes. Join Dr. Karen Swider Lyons, PEFC&E 22 symposium chair, in congratulating the winners!

Meet Dr. Ingrid Milošev at the 242nd ECS Meeting “Meet the Editors” event. Dr. Milošev has been Associate Editor for the Corrosion Science and Technology section of the Journal of The Electrochemical Society since April 2022. She is Head of the Department of Physical and Organic Chemistry at the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she has worked since 1987. Dr. Milošev received a BSc in Chemical Technology in 1986 from the University of Zagreb and a PhD in Chemistry in 1993 from the University of Ljubljana. Her interest in corrosion protection includes corrosion inhibitors, sol-gel coatings, conversion coatings, and inorganic coatings. She published almost 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and nine book chapters. Her work has been cited over 10,000 times, with an h-index of 53. She completed almost 400 reviews for different journals.
Meet Professor Trisha L. Andrew at the 242nd ECS Meeting “Meet the Editors” event. Dr. Andrews is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She directs the Wearable Electronics Lab, a multi-disciplinary research team that creates electronic devices on unconventional substrates, such as textiles and living plants, using chemical vapor deposition of soft electronic materials and polymers. Dr. Andrews received her PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2011, and then started her career as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Electrical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her unconventional training in the disparate fields of synthetic organic chemistry and microelectronic device fabrication inform her unique problem-solving skills and varied research interests. She is a David and Lucille Packard Foundation Fellow, National Academy of Sciences Kavli Fellow, Air Force Office of Scientific Research Young Investigator, L’Oréal USA For Women in Science Fellow, 3M Nontenured Faculty Award winner, and was named as one Forbes “30 Under 30” Innovators in Energy.
