The ECS Students Center

ECS provides excellent opportunities for students to become involved through the many activities of the Society. Students will find great value from the networking from ECS meetings. Become a member and the benefits are even greater.

ECS Student Chapters — ECS has a number of chapters giving students an opportunity to understand electrochemical and solid-state sciences, to have a venue for meeting fellow students, and to receive recognition for their organized scholarly activities and community services.

Short Courses — Students receive a 50% discount on all Short Courses.

Fellowships and Awards — ECS provides a number of fellowships and awards to help students become full-fledged professionals.

Travel Grants — These grants are provided by many ECS Divisions and some Sections to help students attend the best meetings in solid-state science and electrochemistry.

Awarded Student Memberships — These awards are offered by the ECS Divisions to qualified full-time students. Eligible students must be in their final two years as undergraduates or be enrolled in a graduate program in science, engineering, or education (with a science or engineering degree). Awarded memberships are renewable for up to four years; applicants must reapply each year. Memberships include full-content online access to the top-ranked ECS journals, Journal of The Electrochemical Society and Electrochemical and Solid-State Letters; and a subscription ECS quarterly news magazine, Interface.

Career Center — The ECS Career Center provides a Job Bank, a Discussion Forum, and other services.

Professional Development Workshops — Professional development workshops are offered by ECS at its biannual meetings. These workshops are free to all meeting registrants. Check the current ECS meeting for the days, times, and locations of these workshops.
