Shape the future of ECS Meetings

The best ECS symposia start with passionate volunteers. Join a Symposia Committee/Be a Session Chair and help shape topics, review proposals, and guide the discussions that move the field forward. It’s a great way to grow your reputation, build connections, and take on leadership in the community. Interested in organizing? Follow the Symposium Organizers’ Corner blog for insider guidance and updates.

Build connections as a Student Ambassador

Volunteering as an ECS Student Ambassador allows you to develop new skills, strengthen your career path, and contribute to the Society. Along with building your resume and expanding your network, you’ll receive discounted registration, a free Student Mixer ticket, and an ECS membership.

Ensure the continued excellence of ECS Publications

Ready to accelerate scientific discovery and innovation, leading the community as the advocate, guardian, and facilitator of our technical domain? Peer reviewers help maintain the quality, integrity, and impact of ECS publications while supporting the advancement of electrochemical and solid state science.

Take advantage of your division and section memberships

Enhance your leadership path through your ECS division and section engagement:

  • Attend meetings and events.
  • Seek mentorship in both technical areas and governance.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with others.
  • Explore opportunities to contribute, such as chairing sessions or joining subcommittees.

Here’s a quick guide/refresher on the different groups where your volunteer efforts can be even further developed!

DIVISION: Groups organized by topical interest areas within ECS, such as batteries and sensors, helping members connect more deeply with their scientific communities.

Your division membership is included with ECS membership.

SECTION: Regional ECS groups that support local scientific activities and create networking opportunities in countries such as Canada, India, and beyond.

Joining an ECS section is optional for members.

COMMITTEE: Groups that guide ECS initiatives related to education, honors and awards, technical affairs, and other Society-wide programs and activities.

Committee positions are often filled after experience in a division or section.
