Society Awards

Carl Wagner Memorial Awardwagner-web 
Recognizes mid-career achievement, excellence in research areas of interest to the Society, and significant contributions in the teaching or guidance of students or colleagues in education, industry, or government. Award includes a framed certificate; medal; $7,500 (USD); $1,000 (USD) in travel expenses; complimentary meeting registration; and lifetime ECS membership.
Deadline: October 1, 2020

Olin Palladium Award
Recognizes distinguished contributions to the field of electrochemical or corrosion science. Award includes a medal; plaque; $7,500 (USD); complimentary meeting registration; and lifetime ECS membership.

You are invited to nominate qualified candidates for the India Section S.K. Rangarajan Graduate Student Award

Established in 2017, the award assists a deserving student in India pursue a career in disciplines related to electrochemistry and solid state science and technology. The award honors Sarukkai Krishnamachari “SKR” Rangarajan (1932 – 2008) for his dedication and contributions to electrochemical science and technology. (more…)

Corrosion Divison

The ECS Corrosion Division is currently accepting nominations for the following two awards:

Corrosion Division Morris Cohen Graduate Student Award: established in 1991 to recognize and reward outstanding graduate research in the field of corrosion science and/or engineering. The award consists of a framed scroll and $1,000 prize. The award, for outstanding Masters or PhD work, is open to graduate students who have successfully completed all the requirements for their degrees as testified to by the student’s advisor, within a period of two years prior to the nomination submission deadline. The Electronics and Photonics Division (EPD) Award was established in 1969 to encourage excellence in electronics research and outstanding technical contribution to the field of electronics science. The award recognizes authors who have made noteworthy scientific contributions and enhanced the scientific stature of the Society by the presentation of well-received papers in ECS journals and at Society meetings. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2020 ECS Georgia Section Outstanding Student Achievement Award for a student pursuing a PhD at a university in Georgia.

The ECS Georgia Section Outstanding Student Achievement Award was established in 2011 to recognize academic accomplishments in any area of science or engineering in which electrochemical and/or solid state science and technology is the central consideration.

To qualify for the award, the nominee must be a student pursuing a PhD at a university in Georgia; nominated by a university faculty member; and a member of ECS at the time of the nomination.

The Energy Technology Division Research Award was established in 1992 to encourage excellence in energy related research and to encourage publication in the Journal of The Electrochemical Society. The award recognizes outstanding and original contributions to the science and technology of energy related research areas that include scientific and technological aspects of fossil fuels and alternative energy sources, energy management, and environmental consequences of energy utilization.
